Blink UX(Dec 2015-Jul 2020) - Director of Engineering & Solutions Architect
Director of Engineering & Solutions Architect (2018-2020)- Defined and built Blink’s engineering practice, a new multi-million-dollar vertical for the company. Determined areas of focus, built and trained our remote team, and scoped, pitched, and led all dev projects.
- Architected and coded web and mobile apps in a range of front- and backend techs for a diverse set of clients, including 4 Fortune 500 companies. Projects included an award-winning cybersecurity dashboard for Unisys, the beta of a new car-sales platform and mobile app for JD Power, and real-time energy load data visualization dashboard.
- Built projects using React/Redux, RN, NodeJS, Angular, AWS, GraphQL, and PostgreSQL.
- Led remote, local, and outsourced engineering, research, and UX teams to design, build, manage, and deploy that work, managing up to 5 distinct teams on a given project.
- Scoped, tracked, planned sprints for, and managed client communications for all 15+ dev projects, ensuring cross-team work was coordinated and delivered on time.
Lead Engineer (2015-2018)- Architected, built, deployed, and managed 6 web and mobile apps integrating React/Redux, React Native, Rails, AWS, and external APIs.
- Led cross-disciplinary team and managed clients for our 2 largest dev projects, totalling over $2 million in revenue.
- Developed test-driven development patterns, and built core open-source NPM libraries to share tools across projects.
Bloc(Feb 2013-Oct 2014) - Full Stack Course Director, Full Stack Engineer
Full Stack Course Director (~2014)- Updated Rails curriculum, added test-driven-development and debugging sections, and reworked Ruby "fundamentals."
- Hired, managed, and trained ~50 international mentors. More than doubled the mentoring team and simultaneously raised student NPS scores.
- Defined and built key course tools: Stack-Overflow-based QA system and resource library.
Full Stack Engineer (~2013)- Built the core curriculum tools, authentication framework, cross-timezone, recurrent scheduler for mentor-appointments, and Meteor chat application for "office-hours".
- Orchestrated key codebase migrations: From group classes to personal mentorship, 1 curriculum to 5, one-time to subscription payments, and 1 to multiple "track lengths."
Dipont Education(Aug 2011-Jun 2012) - Dipont Fellow
As a Dipont Fellow in Shanghai, China, I taught (English exposition, French, and Psychology) to Chinese high schoolers and helped students applying to college in the US through the foreign application process. I also edited and wrote for the Dipont quarterly, co-designed the future of Dipont's counseling program and alumni outreach, and participated in panel discussions on American education. I wrote a blog (now hosted here) about my experience (and all the eating I did) there.

Marketing (Jun-Aug 2010) - Think Food Group - Washington, DCAt Think Food Group, the organization behind celebrity chef Jose Andres's businesses and brand, I coordinated his philanthropic, culinary, and travel ("research") schedules, as well as drafting presentations and assisting marketing and publicity
Film Production (Jun-Aug 2009) - Coproduction Office - Paris, FranceIn the Paris branch of Coproduction Office, an international arthouse film rights/distribution company, I managed film-festival expenditures, assisted film post-production, and judged screenplays and finished films for purchase and production.
Aid (Jun-Aug 2008) - UNHCR - Rabat, MoroccoAt the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Rabat, capital of Morocco, I conducted aid interviews (in French), managed and reworked the Moroccan UNHCR's refugee record system, oversaw aid distribution, and developed a new strategy around shelter and schooling services for refugees in the country.
Chef (Jun-Aug 2007) - Vecchio Forno Restaurant - Lago D'Orta, ItalyThe summer before college, I worked as second chef in a lakeside town near Milan, Italy. I prepared all appetizers and desserts (as well as some mains) for two seatings of up to 70 people a night. I also tried and failed to learn Italian from a chef who insisted on using me to practice his French. Previous culinary experience includes three summers both assistant teaching at a cooking school and working at a cheese shop, in Colorado.

Programming Bitcoin(2021) - Bitcoin Developer
Attended the 2021 Miami Programming Blockchain seminar with Jimmy Song, where we built out basic wallet software in Python, from finite field implementation through elliptic field cryptography, transaction construction, and propagation on the testnet node network.

After jumping between Psychology, Econ, Film, and English Lit, I picked the least applicable and graduated with an honors English degree and a screenplay for a thesis.
